• Trinity Bar (Facebook | MySpace), 28 Challis Street, Dickson, 9pm EVERY WEDNESDAY. Trinity's longstanding Tuesday night jazz has had a recent hiccough, but now returns Wednesday nights with the new generation from the Jazz School and interstate visitors. Currently the most consistently interesting gig around town. Cocktail/wine bar; free entry; $5 beers; free cheese. Highly recommended. (Last updated Feb 2010)
• Front Gallery. Jazz and other interesting music and other arts in a listener's environment. 1/2 Wattle St, Lyneham. Ph 6249 8453. Some interesting things happening here recently. Small and indie style venue. Cover charge usually ~$5 to the band. (Last updated July 2009)
• ANU School of Music Lots of excellent, interesting music - jazz, but also opera, percussion, "fine". Recommended. See the concert program. (Last updated Nov 2008)
• Adore Tea, Federation Square. 1-5pm, EVERY SUNDAY. Free (?) light jazz. (Last updated Feb 2010)
• Hippo Bar, 9pm EVERY WEDNESDAY (program). Once Canberra's premier jazz venue on Wednesday nights. tyhese days mainly funky with Lethal Leigh Miller and mates. Cover charge varies (%0/$7/$10/$15) depending on performers. (Last updated Feb 2010)
• Belgian Beer Cafe, Kingston, 2-5pm EVERY SUNDAY: David Rodriguez Trio. 6-9. Interesting Belgian beers on tap; free entry. (Last updated July 2009)
• Dendy Cinema, Canberra Centre. 6pm EVERY MONDAY. Nice vocal trio including Luke Sweeting (pno), Phill Jenkins (bs), Natalie Magee (voc). Two sets widely dispersed, to match film times. Finishes ~9.30. Wines and drinks available, and decent movies. (Last updated Jan 2010)
• National Press Club, 6-9pm EVERY FRIDAY (program). Mainly blues these days. (Last updated Feb 2010)
• Casino Canberra, 9-11pm EVERY FRIDAY and SATURDAY, (program). Jazz, swing, blues, etc. (Last updated Nov 2007)
• The Gods Cafe at ANU Arts Centre. Geoff Page runs an annual series of six or so concerts. A great venue, an attentive audience and excellent performers. See reviews of past concerts in CJBlog. (Last updated May 2007)
• Debacle (Lonsdale St. Braddon). 5.30-8.30pm EVERY SUNDAY. Free jazz weekly. (Last updated Mar 2010)
• New Acton. MusicArtFood at New Action. Good reports for various musical forms. (Last updated July 2009)
• Babar's Woden, used to have Jazz on the pavement. Sadly no longer.(Last updated Feb 2010)
• Folkus Room Used to be occasional live music venue, mostly folk. Now defunct. (Last updated Mar 2010)
• Hotel Kurrajong. Longstanding after-work gig featuring the staff of the CSM Jazz School now defunct. A sad loss! (Last updated Nov 2007)
• Jazz @ White Eagle (MySpace site). Sadly now ended (Last updated Sept 2007)
• Minque Bar (Facebook). Used to have jazz. Now closed. (Last updated Aug 2009)
